Can’t add your link in bio on TikTok? Here’s why

Learn why you cannot add a clickable link on your TikTok biography

Written by Lnk.Bio

If you’re having trouble adding your linkinbio to TikTok, it’s likely because your account doesn’t meet the platform’s criteria for adding a clickable website link in your bio.

Unlike Instagram or Twitter, TikTok restricts this feature to specific accounts. Not everyone can include a clickable link in their profile: only certain accounts are eligible.

Here are two alternatives to qualify for a clickable link:

Option 1. Gain at least 1,000 followers

Reach a follower count of 1,000, even with a Personal/Creator account. After you hit this number, TikTok will unlock the Website field in your profile.

Even after you hit 1,000 followers, it might take a little while for the clickable link option to appear. Some users report waiting a couple of days before the feature becomes available, so if it doesn’t show up immediately, be patient.

Option 2. Opt for a TikTok Registered Business Account

Switch your account to a Business Account and you will gain immediate access to the clickable bio link.

To switch to a Business Account:

• Open the TikTok app and go to your profile

• Tap the menu icon in the top right corner

• Select Settings and Privacy

• Choose Manage Account, then tap Switch to Business Account

Only then will TikTok allow you to add a functional, clickable link in your biography.

Alternatives

If you don't have these requirements the best solution is to add a non-clickable, very short link, like our own ln.ki/user so that people can re-type it. More info on this video
